Since you’ve made it here, you see the value in videography and are looking to capture your one-of-a-kind legacy story on film.
So let me formally introduce myself.
I’m Nick DeRose. I’m a videographer, husband, and father.
I’m honored to have been featured in
The Knot, Modern Luxury Weddings Philadelphia, PhillyMag, and BHLDN Weddings.
I’m a down-to-earth, authentic creative and a lifelong film enthusiast. I’ve always had a profound passion for cinematic artistry and a deep appreciation for the beauty and emotion created behind a camera. Some of my earliest (and best) memories are times spent watching movies with my family (the original Star Wars movies come to mind) in awe of the special effects and emotions provoked by classic films.
I met the woman of my dreams, Alexandria, and got married in 2011. God choreographed our marriage and blessed us with five incredible, wondrous, handsome, boys that we cherish every moment with.
My interest in cinematography has evolved into a fervent passion for composing beautiful wedding videos .
My career in wedding videography was born on my own wedding day.
We — like you — dreamt of our wedding day our entire lives. We took great care in planning every detail. We wanted it to be perfect, meaningful, and an authentic reflection of the intensity of love we both felt on that day.
We knew we wanted to hire a wedding videographer. But we were also on a budget.
So — like a remarkable number of other couples — we hired the cheapest option.
We got our wedding videos back, and it was a nightmare. The videographer missed our entire first dance that we spent weeks choreographing.
We were heartbroken.
I knew it could be — and should be — better. So I started doing wedding videography for our friends and family.
My lifelong passion for cinematography, coupled with my unfortunate experience with our own wedding videographer, gifted me with a unique vision, an authentic approach, and an intense dedication to giving newlyweds a beautiful cinematic testament of their love story.
Visual Rose Films was born in 2012.
And, as they say…the rest is history.
In the beginning, I was working a full-time job in editing and picking up as many weddings on the side as I could. I spent 40+ hours a week working for someone else while my own business was busy growing itself.
Each wedding I filmed garnered more word of mouth. This word of mouth propelled my organic, rapid growth. It was a huge drive for me to remain focused.
By 2019 the time was right for me to say goodbye to my full-time job and hello to focusing full-time on my true passions….my family and Visual Rose Films. (Incidentally, in that order.)
My deep love and devotion to my family make me the ROMANTIC, DISCERNING VIDEOGRAPHER for which I have become known.
Because I cherish all the little moments of love and affection in my own life, I recognize, in beautiful clarity, all the little moments of love and affection on your wedding day.

Nick took time to learn what was most important to us on our wedding day and he was able to capture all of that in the most beautiful way. He is incredibly talented. Not only was he able to capture it all but the way he ties it together and matches music to it is unlike anyone I've ever seen. On the day of, he was a calm presence and you don't even notice he's there throughout the day. He manages to get everything and never be in anyone's way. He captured our 15 nieces and nephews and their personalities, our guests, and every special moment.
